Master the Scoring: How Points are Earned and Lost in the Balls System

Welcome to the Balls System at Baseline Rush! Understanding how points are awarded and deducted in fantasy tennis is key to building a winning team. Our Balls System is designed to reflect the real-world performance of tennis players and reward your strategic decisions. From aces to break points, every action on the court can impact your fantasy team’s success. Here's how the system works:

Scoring Actions:

Aces: Every ace a player serves adds 3 points to your score. Players who dominate the serving game can give you a real advantage.

Winners: A player who hits a winner (not returned by the opponent) earns 2 points. Players with powerful strokes that are hard to return are valuable assets to your team.

Break Points Won: Each break point a player wins (turning the game in their favor) adds 5 points. These moments are crucial in matches and highly rewarding in fantasy scoring.

Double Faults: If a player commits a double fault (a missed serve on both attempts), -2 points are deducted from their total. Serving consistency is key to your team's success.

Unforced Errors: Every unforced error (a shot missed that the opponent didn’t force) results in a -1 point penalty. Watch out for players prone to mistakes!

Service Games Won: Every service game won by a player contributes 3 points. Strong servers who win most of their service games are essential for a well-rounded team.

Bonus Actions:

Match Win: When a player wins a match, they receive 10 points for their efforts. It’s the ultimate reward for consistent performance.

Set Win: Each time a player wins a set, they earn 5 points. Set victories contribute to your team’s success, especially in best-of-three or best-of-five matches.

Game Win: Winning a game also earns points! Each game won by your player adds 1 point. It’s these small victories that lead to big results.

Penalty Actions:

Injuries: If a player withdraws from a match due to injury, they receive -5 points. It’s always a good idea to keep track of player fitness!

Red Cards: While rare in tennis, if a player is penalized with a code violation (like unsportsmanlike conduct), they will lose -3 points. Discipline on the court matters.

The Balls System is designed to reward players who contribute in multiple areas: strong serving, break points, consistency, and match wins. By strategically selecting your players based on their strengths and avoiding penalties like double faults and unforced errors, you can maximize your team’s potential and climb the leaderboard.
